Writing Can Change Your Life

The power of words. Did you know your chance of succeeding with your weight loss and fitness goals increase by 1000% just by keeping and reviewing an accurate journal? Keep a journal of your week. Put in a food diary, get to know the calories in the portions of the foods you eat. Monitor your thoughts and keep track of your workouts. You’ll be amazed at what you discover about yourself!

In addition, I’d like to share my love of writing by offering 7 ideas that might benefit you 🙂

1. Unload your mental RAM.

Try clearing your mind by writing in different ways.

A. Core Dump: Writing down every “to-do” item you can think of clears space in your head for more important topics.
B. Morning Pages: This involves stream-of-consciousness writing. Write everything on your mind & let it flow naturally. Doing this each morning clears your head in preparation for the day’s most important thinking.

2. Stay focused.

Often we get caught up in our everyday business & lose track of whats most important. To stay on track write down a reminder that can stop your thoughts & let it guide you back on track.

3. Process your emotions.

Writing down what’s on our mind is a great way to work through inner conflict or process your feelings. It’s similar to talking a situation through with a friend, except its a useful way of strengthening your self-soothing abilities & self-knowledge.

4. Record of the past.

Reading back provides valuable insight into your thought process & emotional life. You can savor moments, increase your levels of gratitude, & enhancs your levels of self-trust. When you see how successfully you’ve traversed trials & tribulations youll feel more confident in your ability to do so in the future.

5. Feel success.

Its satisfying to fill up a journal with our thoughts & feelings. When you finish a journal, youll realize that you have written a book! Also, we gain an additional sense of satisfaction crossing items off our “to-do” list. Feeling productive enhances our actions, creating a virtuous cycle.

6. Think big.

No matter our outside circumstances, when we write things down, we enter a world of possibility. Writing gives us a chance to explore dreams & ambitions that we might not feel safe revealing to anyone else yet.

7. Goal Oriented.

A written goal gives you a direction.& by rewriting your goals you not only reaffirm what your goals are but you may also find new insights that bring more clarity & focus.
