could tell my batteries were running low; I was walking, thinking, and behaving with less intensity. Through experience, I’ve learned this to be a sign that I’ve been unplugged from the source for too long. We cannot have power if we do not have a source. The reason your computer or cell phone is on is because they each have a source that they plug into. If you unplug them for too long the light in it of itself has absolutely no power. We don’t really have power until we ground into something that ignites us, fuels us, and drives us to go forward.
This weekend I took time to recharge, replenish, and rejuvenate – Soul Care. After hiking Mount Manadnock with empowering friends (#Teamlife), reading from a new book (What To Say When You Talk To Yourself by Shad Helmstetter), having a restful sleep (8 hours), going back to church (Join me next Sunday), eating clean (meal prep is key), drinking plenty of water (1+ Gallon), and taking time to reflect at the beach (See picture) – my soul feels cared for and fulfilled. Practicing soul care and plugging into a source can put back in you what life takes out of you. This enables you to stay charged and continue to pour into others.
If this is a new idea for you as it was for me, start with a small change. Take timeout from your busy lifestyle to breathe, rest, replenish, and reflect – you’ll be amazed how powerful and healing this can be. Give it a try! 🙂
